These 100% plant-based soap flakes are perfect for making your own laundry detergent and liquid soap base. With 1 kilo of soap, you can make 60 liters of liquid detergent and/or liquid soap.

So it's also very affordable and environmentally friendly. This soap cleans exceptionally well, and with essential oils, you can add your own signature scent to your detergent. You can also make your own soap bars with this soap, for example, using herbs, essential oils, and hydrosols.

An eco-friendly and economical way to wash your hands and machines (up to 150 washes). These soap flakes are made entirely from vegetable oils derived from certified organic farming (coconut and palm oil).

They are made in France and contain no additives, preservatives, or perfumes. Because they are naturally hypoallergenic and contain natural glycerin, the soap flakes are particularly suitable for delicate fabrics (silk, lingerie, and wool), baby laundry, and allergy sufferers.

Here is a recipe for making your own detergent consisting of 2.5 liters of detergent for white laundry and 2.5 liters for colored laundry.

80 grams of grated Marseille soap or soap flakes.

40 grams of soda (for white laundry)

5 liters of water (boiling)

60 drops of essential oil

Boil one liter of water. Add the soap flakes. Stir well. Continue stirring until all the soap is dissolved. Add another four liters of boiling water (you can also use a clean bucket if you don't have a large pot).

Pour half of the soapy water into another pan or bucket and add the baking soda. Baking soda has a slight bleaching effect and is therefore suitable for white laundry. (Note: Older washing machines sometimes still have aluminum parts, and those washing machines cannot tolerate baking soda, as it corrodes the aluminum parts. You can easily test whether your drum is aluminum or stainless steel with a magnet. If it's a stainless steel drum, the magnet will stick, and if it's aluminum, it will fall off.)

Let this cool overnight and then add the essential oil of your choice the next day. Use 30 drops per 2.5 liters of laundry detergent, or a little more for a stronger scent.

Lemon oil enhances the whitening and grease-dissolving properties of liquid detergent. This makes it ideal for white laundry detergent recipes. I often add a teaspoon of organic oxygen bleach (for example, from Ecover, available at health food stores) to my whites because I find it gives them that little extra something extra, making them beautifully white and clean.

Eucalyptus oil is very suitable for washing bedding because it helps against dust mites

Lavender essential oil and Ylang Ylang are wonderful scented oils if you want a detergent with a little more fragrance.

For very sensitive skin, you can, of course, skip the essential oil and use an unscented detergent. Or you can add a few drops of essential oil per wash, so you can use a different one each time.

You'll notice that after one night, your liquid detergent will have turned into a thick, gel-like mass. Stir everything thoroughly again (using an immersion blender if necessary, but a wooden spoon usually works fine too) to remove any lumps and make the detergent liquid again. Then pour the detergent into empty, well-rinsed (detergent) bottles.

This (unscented) detergent is generally suitable for all laundry at both low and high temperatures. You only need about one wash ball per load.

Always shake well before use to dissolve any lumps.
